RaceVisor is provided free of charge, but it is not open-source: you may use it freely, and the Author keeps the copyright. This document covers the application and the Community Track Library / Track Pioneers service. Installing, copying or running RaceVisor means you accept it. (Draft prepared by the Author; not legal advice — have it reviewed before relying on it commercially.)
1. Grant of license#
1.1 The Author grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and run RaceVisor on computers you own or control, for personal and commercial sim-racing use, at no charge.
1.2 You may make copies for backup and may run several instances at once.
2. Restrictions#
You may not: (a) sell, rent, lease, sublicense or redistribute RaceVisor for a fee; (b) modify, decompile, disassemble or reverse-engineer it except where law forbids this restriction; (c) remove or alter copyright, trademark or attribution notices; (d) use the RaceVisor or FloDee names or marks to imply endorsement; (e) use RaceVisor to interfere with, tamper with or gain an unfair advantage in iRacing or any other service in breach of that service's rules — RaceVisor reads the sim's shared memory read-only and must stay that way.
Redistributing the unmodified installer/ZIP free of charge, with this license included, is permitted.
3. Signed binary#
RaceVisor is code-signed via Azure Trusted Signing — both the Release build and the Development Build. It is published by the author of FloDee (https://flodeeapp.com). Windows SmartScreen may still warn on first launch while the signing certificate builds reputation; choose "More info", then "Run anyway". Only download RaceVisor from https://racevisor.flodeeapp.com or the official release links it points to; the Author is not responsible for copies obtained elsewhere.
4. Community Track Library & Track Pioneers#
4.1 Opt-in. RaceVisor's Track Map learns each track's outline from one clean lap. Sharing that outline with the Community Track Library, and being credited as a Track Pioneer, is strictly opt-in (Settings → Community Track Library → "Share tracks I learn"). Nothing is uploaded unless you switch it on. Downloading shared outlines is a read-only request that sends no information about you.
4.2 What is transmitted when you opt in. The normalized track outline, the track's name, configuration and iRacing track id, the display name you chose (or your iRacing display name), your iRacing customer id, the RaceVisor version, and the ordinary metadata of an HTTP request (a hashed IP address, kept for rate-limiting and abuse control). No lap times, telemetry or other data are sent.
4.3 Track Pioneer credit is an acknowledgement only. The first eligible driver to share a track is listed as its Track Pioneer in RaceVisor and on the Track Pioneers page. Being listed confers no rights, privileges, priority or additional support, compensation, payment, revenue share, ownership interest, or other consideration of any kind, and creates no employment, partnership, agency or other relationship with the Author. The listing is the whole of the recognition.
4.4 Eligibility and moderation. Employees and contractors of iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations are not eligible for Pioneer credit. Because the sim exposes no reliable "staff" indicator, eligibility relies on your in-app declaration and on server-side checks. The Author may, at any time and without notice, withhold, correct, re-attribute, anonymize or remove any credit or shared outline — for example to fix an error, remove an ineligible, offensive or abusive entry, honor a removal request, or comply with law. The listing is intended to be permanent but is provided "as is" with no guarantee of continued availability.
4.5 License to shared content. By sharing an outline you grant the Author a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to store, display, distribute and incorporate it into RaceVisor and its website, credited as described above. You confirm you have the right to share it. Track outlines are derived from your own driving, not from iRacing's assets.
4.6 Removing yourself. To have your name removed or replaced by "RaceVisor community", contact the Author through https://flodeeapp.com/community.html. The outline may remain in the library.
5. Privacy#
RaceVisor collects no usage analytics and contacts no server other than the optional Community Track Library (4.2) and services you start yourself (YouTube upload with your own credentials, your own OBS). Settings, layouts and track caches live under your Documents folder and stay on your PC.
6. No warranty#
RACEVISOR IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE AUTHOR DOES NOT WARRANT THAT RACEVISOR WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT THE COMMUNITY TRACK LIBRARY WILL REMAIN AVAILABLE.
7. Limitation of liability#
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE AUTHOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, RACE RESULTS, RATINGS OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE RACEVISOR, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. THE AUTHOR'S TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR RACEVISOR — WHICH IS ZERO.
8. Third parties#
iRacing is a trademark of iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations, LLC. OpenKneeboard, OBS, YouTube and Windows belong to their respective owners. RaceVisor is not affiliated with, endorsed by or supported by any of them.
9. Termination and changes#
This license ends automatically if you breach it. The Author may publish revised terms with new releases; continuing to use a new release means you accept the terms that ship with it. Sections 4.3–4.5, 6, 7 and 8 survive termination.
10. Governing law#
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Author's place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
